TTA Archives 2005-2012

This article from Texas is a bit pedestrian, but shows how ‘digital delivery’ (the AirStrip OB phone app, developed in San Antonio) and telemedicine linking metropolitan to regional and rural hospitals (Polycom) are becoming more commonplace.  Even interactive TV (remember this?) makes an appearance–patients can now access information and entertainment choices, along with (of course) patient education, in their hospital rooms, via GetWellNetwork–no iPad needed.  (Not on our usual beat: high-tech, highly realistic mannequins for CPR, technical training and even childbirth.)  Austin Statesman
