Remodelling sheltered housing and residential care homes to extra care housing: Advice to housing and care providers

King’s College report by Professor Anthea Tinker and colleagues contains some pertinent comments for all telecare providers on the needs of older people and the ability of present technologies to meet those needs. My suggestion is that Telecare Aware readers begin with the Technology for Future-proofing section on page 17, then explore the rest of the report. Download the report.

  1. Could you provide a more direct link to the comments? I searched for 4-5 minutes but couldn’t find what you wanted to refer to. Most readers will give up before then.

    Thanks

  2. Apart from my previous comment. Where is the proof that Sheltered Homes are any less popular, or outdated. The originator of that statement seems to rely upon presumption.

Let just add that Sheltered Homes are as popular as they ever were and the question of being outdated, is subjective. Good housing providers will keep their properties up-to-date. Bad ones will not !

To me this whole report seems to start with an assumption and then sets out to prove it to be true, regardless of the evidence, or despite the evidence
