Tunstall looking for a new CEO

UPDATE 27 Nov 2009: Tunstall’s confirmatory statement.

Original post, 26 Nov 2009:
The disappearance of James Buckley’s profile from the Tunstall management team pages of their website seems to confirm the rumour that after 8 years with the company and 5 years as CEO he has, without all the usual Tunstall publicity, left.

The word is that Malcolm Miller has become Executive Chairman while the Board seeks a new CEO. [Hmm… wonder if they will advertise on Telecare Aware? We are read by the savviest people in the field…]

The reasons for Mr Buckley’s departure are not yet known, but he has not had a happy time recently with the publication of an interview he’d probably rather forget in the Times Travel Supplement and having to cut the workforce by 10% after a slump in sales. And, of course, it may be that major investor Charterhouse Capital want to look to someone else to deliver the return on their investment they were expecting.

  1. Tunstall departures
James Buckley seems to have disappeared about as quietly as David Kelly – Managing Director Scotland, who left last month. They made a big fuss when he was appointed! Similarly, the departure of Mike Hodges, the Director of R&-), and the withdrawal of funding for CUHTec at the University of York, suggests that they don’t seem inclined to invest in the future – or were these the sort of mistakes that upset Charterhouse Capital?

  2. The future’s telehealth
Well done James for all the hard work and dedication to the telehealth field………….. you will be Greatly missed!
