Safeguarding data to the highest standards must be a concern of everyone involved in telecare and telehealth monitoring. That’s why editor Donna has flagged up reported breaches in the ‘States from time to time, and why Tunstall, despite the over-hyped headline, should be congratulated for upping its game on data security. However, here’s a sorry tale from the UK – the NHS has been leaking patient data here, there, and everywhere: NHS lost track of 1.8m patient records in a year with sensitive information found in public bin and for sale on the internet MailOnline.
