Telecare support for US veterans to be tested

Another indicator of more US Federal government attention to telecare and the incremental growth of companies in this space.  This short article announces a $475,000 (GBP 289,000) grant from the US Department of Defense (specifically DARPA, the real inventor of the internet) for a test of Healthsense’s eNeighbor monitoring.  Veterans will use the system in-home, with monitoring (who receives not disclosed), to determine whether seniors can remain in their homes longer before moving to assisted living or VA nursing homes.  It’s Healthsense’s second DARPA grant, and substantial for their size.  Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal
