Roughing up the telecare superhighway?

I suspect that this new telecare blog will touch a few raw nerves.

It has only four posts so far (so start reading now, from the first post at the bottom) but they get straight to the heart of a problem that haunts telecare in the UK where lip service is often given to the importance of person-centric assessments.

The blog items so far recognise and spell out the tension between the cost of an actual person-centric assessment and the desire to sign people up to a telecare service they might not actually need.

It’s the choice telecare services have to make between trudging the rocky road of meeting people’s real needs and zooming down the superhighway of meeting targets and boosting service incomes.
