…and you can attribute that to the US government push on and subsidy of EHRs plus the press for ‘meaningful use’. The EHRs being purchased generally use software, such as Citrix, configured for desktops or laptops and not fully compatible. Wi-Fi networks are spotty. Doctors find iPad navigation and the touch screens difficult. And of course there is the cost to build out and secure said tablet system. But Apple is now targeting the healthcare market specifically… even while walking that fine line with FDA medical device regulation.
