Interesting move by Intel. It looks like they have identified microchip-based personal health technology as being potentially very lucrative in the future.
Does this mean GPs will be using Star Trek type devices that scan our bodies and check for health problems?
I think it is getting better than Star Trek… with wireless implantable sensors to allow long term monitoring of cardiovascular parameters already a reality (I’ll post the website soon) it just needs their data to be picked up by a mobile phone and they can be sent back to the GP anywhere, any time. There will be no need to go to the health centre to step in a machine, we will be able to scan ourselves!
