While others are still dabbling about with pilot ‘studies’, Edinburgh City Council has made significant investment, done the sums, and concluded that they should invest more. According to an item in The Scotsman, in the last three years Edinburgh has spent an average of £405,000 on telecare but this year it is rising to £950,000 as the services are offered to more people. As well as helping older people and people with medical conditions, for the first time about £50,000 will be spent dealing with domestic violence. Read it here.
