Cisco plans the ultimate smart+connected city in Florida

If you want to live with the highest level of connectivity both for your business and home, Lake Nona (Nano?) may be in your future. Cisco is working with the concept town’s developers near Orlando, Florida to design, in their words, “ubiquitous connectivity and interconnected building, transportation, utility, and civic systems, for a truly smart, networked city created for innovation.” Lake Nona is also designed to be an education, research and development center for medical technologies, so undoubtedly it will be luring telehealth developers to its Medical City. It is planned to grow to 25,000 people on 7000 acres, with $2 billion in construction of new hospitals, a medical school, and a community college over the next decade. Certainly a place where the Quantified Selfers might feel…just average. MedCityNews.
