In a disgracefully scrambled piece of reporting – as commenters on the original item point out – the Sunderland Echo appears to blame the telecare service’s panic buttons for a week-long service outage that was actually down to BT, the telecoms provider to fix. Old people felt stranded after broken panic buttons left faulty for more than a week.
