NHS Direct's new wellness project first of its kind

NHS Direct (NHSD) and NHS Blackburn with Darwen Teaching Care Trust Plus (NHSBDTCTP) will, in September, be piloting an NHS Wellness programme to help prevent local people developing long term conditions. This new approach by NHS Direct is the only one of its kind in the UK. The programme will provide motivational support to over a 1000 patients identified by the local NHS as being at risk of developing a long term condition.
