Back in October we flagged up the carers’ conference to be held in Glasgow on 1 December. What wasn’t clear at the time was that the result of a major study was to be launched there. The study explored when, why and how telecare equipment was being used in Scotland and the direct effects on carers’ situations and how these were affected when telecare equipment was put in place, how telecare might benefit carers in their caring roles and what they thought of the effect of telecare on the person being cared for.
