Information Week has a once-over-lightly roundup of digital health for the aging population as exhibited at ASA-NCOA in Chicago. Many of these companies also had smaller exhibits or sponsorships at the following What’s Next Boomer Business Summit, but occasionally with a different twist. firstStreet, a catalog direct marketer, has the MyGait GO computer highlighted here, but at What’s Next, their approach was to offer their multi-channel marketing expertise to companies. More: Wellcore and Halo Monitoring, both fall monitoring systems with different models and appeal; the Caring.com networking site, Dakin’s Brain Fitness; and–proving Jimmy Durante’s adage that ‘everyone’s getting into the act’–Dr. Marion (Somers), well-known elder care expert, has developed two iPhone applications called Elder 911 (emergency) and Elder 411 (information resources). There were other companies represented but not included here–GrandCare Systems, PositScience (brain fitness), Presto and start-up Early Bird Alert‘s personalized telephone that ties into messages and a reward program (!).
