Over the years, Eds. Donna and Steve have written reams about Steve Jobs, Apple and their great influence in mobile health–with our last headline ‘The last mobile bombshell?’ when Jobs stepped down from the CEO position in late August. Was he another Edison or Henry Ford? Ed. Donna thinks that the Wizard of Menlo Park (NJ) and the Revolutionary of River Rouge would recognize a kindred (ten steps ahead, stubborn, creative) spirit. If you’re not in the mood to read yet another assembled obit, go over to Larry Dignan’s ‘Between the Lines’ column at ZDNet to see Jobs from the deeply techie POV. It also links to Jobs’ 2005 commencement address at Stanford University about connecting the dots (backwards), love and loss (sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick, but keep going), and death as life’s change agent. To him, as to us all.
(‘Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish’ was the signoff of The Whole Earth Catalog, which no college dorm or happy hippie home was without in the 1970s. Properly Jobs credited Stewart Brand, the founder.)
