Scotland's got pendants

It’s through rather gritted teeth that I give you the link to an article in Scotland’s ‘The Herald’. Peace of mind for elderly at touch of a button which references Help the Aged’s Aid Call service. Whilst it has two human interest stories, the overall feel of the article would have been appropriate 15 years ago. Worse, it perpetuates what is becoming increasingly recognised that, for all sorts of reasons debated in the comments to the Britain’s Got Pendants item, the reassurance given by a pendant is something of a myth. If people are to be really safe, they need more than a device that depends on being within reach when they need it.
