Removing the barriers to telehealth–a policy view (US)

The Center for Connected Health Policy in California–not to be confused with the Center for Connected Health which is part of Partners Health in Boston–recently published a report on how to advance telehealth in California through specific policy changes. It is the result of a year’s work of 25 healthcare and policy experts. Some of the recommendations cited in this brief article from founding parent California HealthCare Foundation are specific to the state, but others–such as telehealth being covered by Medicaid and private payers, and malpractice coverage as it includes telehealth activities–are applicable nationally.
