Patient engagement and telehealth

In advance of The Beryl Institute’s Patient Experience Conference next week (25-27 April in Fort Worth, Texas–and sold out), the Tower Strategies consulting group has released a white paper on the virtual touch points of the patient experience. After PCMHs, ACOs, EHRs, HITECH and more of the usual acronyms are disposed of, the ‘e-patient’ comes to the front of the stage. Telehealth (monitoring), telemedicine (videoconferencing), mobile health, social media, HIT management and PHRs are depicted as key to engaging the patient from the visit to scheduling appointments to supporting acute/transitional care delivery and remote disease management. Check to see the key part of eHealth in the Customer Experience Maturity Model and where telehealth fits in patient-centered practices and hospitals. Patient Engagement and Their Experience (PDF).
