News from the Wessex HIEC telehealth and telecare work stream (UK)

The Wessex Health Innovation and Education Cluster (HIEC) is a Southampton University-based initiative that supports telehealth and telecare activity across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Dorset and South Wiltshire and is a great example of what can be done with some resources (funding) and a lot of good will. It produces a fortnightly newsletter, edited by Katherine Barbour who, in the current issue (PDF download) reports on the Healthcare Efficiency through Technology event in London, 9th October. Worth noting are the launch of a new 4G-based product that Orange and T-Mobile has developed called ‘Everything Everywhere’ and some snippets of information about the direction of the 3millionlives (3ML) campaign.
