On the heels of today’s latest mobile ‘scare’–that the World Health Organization (WHO)’s study found that cell phone usage could possibly be associated with brain tumors, specifically gliomas and acoustic neuromas, at least we can be reassured that healthcare workers’ mobile devices are less germ-ridden than the visitors’ and patients’! Some patient phones carried multidrug resistant (MDR) pathogens such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and multiple resistant gram-negative organisms. Get out the Lysol!
