Combined with a modern mobile phone, NETRA, a device from MIT’s Media Lab allows eye glass prescriptions to be produced simply , cheaply and quickly in any location. Clinical trials are due to begin shortly. PerfectSight, the company responsible for manufacture, is initially targeting parts of Africa and Asia [presumably sidestepping FDA regulation delays].
