Medical alert summoned police–with tragic consequences (US)

A medical alert device, for unknown reasons, summoned police to Kenneth Chamberlain’s apartment in White Plains, New York. The 68 year-old former US Marine with a heart condition became agitated, would not let the local police in, and after they entered anyway it escalated to the point where Mr. Chamberlain was first tasered, then shot and killed for reasons that are unclear. Not only a story of unintended consequences, but also of the medical alert base station recording it all, in near-broadcast quality, and documenting exactly what happened.
