Birmingham OwnHealth shows its worth (UK)

This editor, Steve, cheered up on reading the following oddly-titled article from eHealthInsider. It describes progress being made by NHS Birmingham East and North and NHS Direct’s OwnHealth project, whereby people with COPD receive a telehealth monitoring package and associated support from community matrons. Author Sarah Bruce has done a great job of looking past the obvious benefits and teasing out the issues that may not be immediately apparent, such as the increase in the community matrons’ more targeted workload. Ben there, done that. Heads-up thanks to Trevor Cradduck.
