Aging Services Technology study released (US)

A new study jointly authored by CAST (Center for Aging Services Technologies) and NORC, a research organization at the University of Chicago, was published last week. The Report to Congress (link to text) provides a detailed discussion of Aging Services Technologies, herein dubbed ASTs, on how they affect 8 care issues facing older people and the disabled: falls, chronic disease management, medication management, cognitive impairments, sensory impairments, depression, mobility impairments and functional decline. It also reviews barriers to development and adoption, recommending strategies to overcome them. How Technology Can Improve Care and Quality of Life (LeadingAge)
