After the evidence, GP Online still doubts telehealth savings (UK)

At the end of April we reported the publication GP Online’s attempt which was blocked by the Department of Health to get the data on which the 3ML claim for savings from the extended use of telecare and telehealth is based. Well, now they have a summary of it which they have had independently reviewed. The message is mixed: despite admitting that there is ‘no doubt the DH sums add up’ the eventual scale of the savings remains unclear because they may not have included knock-on costs to other service providers: Telecare’s ‘£1.2bn savings’ remain in doubt.
