In a follow up to the recent publicity on BT’s Wakefield COPD project (or else it is just another piece publicity for their Mobile and Wireless 3rd annual conference 16 Feb publicity [events]), the Guardian’s self-styled ‘Patient from Hell’ nevertheless puts his finger on a key question for the NHS: given GPs’ notorious conservatism when it comes to new technology, will handing commissioning of services to GP consortia ring the deathknell of telehealth development in the UK? Will GP commissioners embrace telehealth?
