Wales invests to save in telecare

Given the Wales invests to save in telecare headline in eHealth Insider Primary Care, you might be forgiven for thinking (as they have spun it on the Tunstall blog) that £7.3 million is heading telecare’s way, but reading the list of Invest-to-Save projects (PDF) you will see that just a small part of that will be used on telecare – creating a regional monitoring centre for North Wales, with expected cash releasing savings of £400k per year. Why EHI conflated this with the Welsh Assembly’s December 6th announcement of £350,000 for telemedicine for acute stroke, is unclear.
