Why is editor Steve not more excited by the publication last week of the UK Government’s new 42-page consultation paper Vision for Adult Social Care? (PDF) After all it does reference the benefits of telecare and telehealth. Perhaps it’s that feeling of having heard it all before, perhaps its the postponement of any further thinking about it until the results of the Whole System Demonstrator (WSD) projects are out, or perhaps it’s as summed up by the commenter on this E-Health Insider item (Telecare essential to ‘re-enablement’) “…Telecare pilots have been going on in various disciplines for 15 years. Why is there not more progress?”
