Veterans' Affairs subcommittee hearings focus on telehealth (US)

On 24 June, the Subcommittee on Health of the US House of Representatives Committee on Veterans’ Affairs will hold hearings on ‘Overcoming Rural Health Care Barriers:  Use of Innovative Wireless Health Technology Solutions’.  The hearing will examine how the VA can utilize new and innovative wireless technologies to expand access to care to veterans in remote areas.  Telehealth executives scheduled to testify include Kent Dicks, CEO of MedApps as well as executives from Proteus Biomedical, Corventis and Rick Cnossen, CEO of the Continua Alliance.  As our readers know, the Veterans Administration (VA) is one of the largest users of remote monitoring and wireless health; the Veterans’ Affairs committee has oversight over the VA.  Unfortunately the committee link is blank on further information.  [Thank you Kent Dicks for the ‘heads-up’ on this–Ed.
