Sensor remote monitoring and PERS integration

Telecare stand-alone technologies are starting to integrate, benefiting both new and old systems.  WellAWARE (sensor-based senior wellness monitoring and trending) and AMAC (good ol’ PERS) recently announced a test of a true integrated system at an Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan residence in Minnesota. In an emergency indicated by either system, the PERS activates for two-way voice communication with AMAC’s 24 hour call center for immediate assistance and caregiver notification.  It makes the PERS ‘smarter’ and gives the sensor-based system an active communications link.  Remote monitoring and PERS have been used for years as side-by-side standalones–to this reporter’s knowledge this is their first integration.  Release.
