Snowed-in response centres (UK)

Antarctic-like weather (well, maybe not quite) hit many parts of the UK last week, from Scotland down to Kent, the latter place being where the large, manufacturer-independent monitoring centre run by Invicta Telecare is located. At the beginning of this year we asked about centres’ preparedness for adverse weather [TA Jan 2010] and it looks like Invicta upped their game after the heroics of their staff last year and have enabled them to continue to work from home. However, this now raises the question: if in adverse conditions, why not most of the time? Snowed-in Invicta staff work from home.
