Remote patient monitoring now means in hospital too

With a slightly bizarre twist, one of the worst press releases I’ve read for a long time Cardiopulmonary Corp. Expands Offerings With Introduction of Bernoulli TLC for LTAC Hospitals extends the meaning of ‘remote patient monitoring’ to monitoring patients in hospital when the doctor is somewhere else.

On a related topic, GE is pressing for a dedicated wireless frequency band to enable the growth of wireless medical monitoring systems, or body sensor networks that would replace the ‘traditional tangle of bedside cables used to capture a patient’s vital signs’. Sounds like a good idea. Three cheers for untethered patients!
