Google unveiled a home controls framework, Android@Home, that controls wireless or connected devices through any Android device. Premiered at Google I/O in San Francisco, an Android tablet controlled wirelessly connected lights and a simple home theatre: playing a near field communication-enabled CD swiped near the tablet and speakers. Lighting Science Group will be bringing compatible appliances and devices to market by end of year; with the framework revealed, developers are expected to build apps on top of the new protocols.
