US standards group HL7: New guide for telehealth data exchange

Health Level Seven (HL7), one of the USA’s national standards development group, has introduced a new guideline for the implementation of the Clinical Document Architecture – a framework for health care data exchange – in home health monitoring.

It’s a long and highly technical, but vital reading for engineers involved in the development of home health monitoring equipment. It has been developed with inputs from people associated with Continua Alliance and can be downloaded from the HL7 site. It is called: HL7 Implementation Guide for CDA Release 2: Personal Healthcare Monitoring Report, Release 1. Look for the consultation close date Nov 18, 2010.
