As reported [TA 15 June], the House Subcommittee on Veterans’ Affairs took a day last week (24 June) to explore wireless health and how it could improve care for the 3 million veterans in the VA system–40% of the 8 million–who live in rural areas. The VA is already one of the largest users of wireless health and remote monitoring.  Witness testimony includes Joseph Smith, M.D. of the West Wireless Health Institute, Darrel West of Brookings, Rick Cnossen of Continua Alliance and Intel, Kent Dicks of MedApps, Col. Ronald Poropatich, M.D., of TATRC and US Army Medical Research.  Written statements are here, along to a (squirrely) video link of the proceedings.
