Australia to invest $60m in telehealth, emergency response and e-education

No doubt in response to recent vociferous criticism of its lack of a telehealth policy, the Australian Government has announced $60 million (£31m; US$50m) in funding for new remote and rural health, emergency response and education projects that will be “rolled out on the back of the national broadband network”. E-health ‘innovators’ are invited to provide expressions of interest for projects due to begin in early 2010 as part of the government’s Digital Regions Initiative. Telehealth funding info.
