AT&T, Sprint talk healthcare plans @ HIMSS

Both AT&T and Sprint are promoting healthcare, healthcare, healthcare. The first is AT&T For Health, focused on meeting ‘pain points’ in the healthcare industry, thus creating an ‘ecosystem’ incorporating telehealth, cloud-based services, health information exchange (HIE) and mHealth claiming 100,000 customers. Sprint Nextel has no snappy name for the division, and seems to be concentrating on fitness-derived body monitors that can track biometrics and sleep patterns, adapting them for EMTs and fleet drivers; however this article is heavy on gee-whiz quotes that are less than revealing of Sprint’s plans.
