Wristwatch-style oximeter goes for crowdfunding

Tel Aviv-based OxiTone [TA 25 Feb] has chosen a fairly unusual route for initial financing–crowdfunding on IndieGoGo. The company developing an optical bracelet for pulse oximetry and heart rate hopes to raise $50,000 through the platform. Backers receive various perks depending on the amount donated; higher levels receive an OxiTone valued at $249 and a spot in the validation program. So far, unfortunately, they’ve raised only $101. Maybe they should try a health-specific crowdfunding site like MedStartr? OxiTone launches crowdfunding campaign (iMedicalApps).
