Wireless telemedicine a US$ 3.6 billion market by 2015

Telemedicine (sic) devices and services will generate US$ 3.6 billion within the next five years, according to a new report by market research firm Pike & Fischer.  Wireless applications, devices, and services solutions will account for more than 70 percent of the total market spend.  They project the wireless market leader will be AT&T, with Verizon and Sprint Nextel following.  However they are also projecting that driving spend will be $5 billion of stimulus funds, earmarked for healthcare IT, going to telemedicine services like remote patient monitoring and mobile access to PHRs/EMRs.  (We will see.)  Release
