Bayer diabetes device with PC interface

A halfway step towards direct online sending of vital signs information.  Bayer HealthCare has just released in the US a new USB version of its mass marketed Contour glucose meter.  It looks like a larger-size USB flash drive, connects to your PC and provides readings on the meter and via its proprietary software.  Walter Mossberg’s report in The Wall Street Journal outlines the good (the easy connect to your PC and reporting of glucose levels over time), the bad (the software has compatibility and loading problems, battery charging) and the ugly (no uploading to PHR sites or sending to your doctor.)  Despite all this, a well-priced step into connected health from a ‘name player’.   Article  Video demo  Bayer ContourUSB global website
