Rural telehealth funded for VA (US)

The Federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will be funding the Veterans Administration (VA) for telehealth to expand rural outreach for VA. The grant of $983,100 (Ed. Donna–why the odd amount?) will be divided equally among three states–Virginia, Montana, and Alaska–which have the highest density of veterans living in rural areas and must travel long distances to access healthcare. The agreement between the two agencies promotes collaboration between VA facilities, private hospitals and clinics and includes the implementation/upgrading of telehealth capabilities.
