Friendly lifeline for isolated older people (Scotland)

Remember this article for the next time you hear someone object that telecare and telehealth will contribute to people’s social isolation – mutter ‘horses for courses’ and point out that if people need 24 monitoring, get some appropriate electronics and if they need company, get a service like this one, the Red Cross is setting up in Scotland: “volunteers will provide a vital lifeline by regularly visiting isolated people in their homes, as well as helping with chores and trips.”
