Researchers at Spain’s Universidad Carlos III de Madrid have designed a T-shirt (more like a ‘muscle shirt’) that can remotely monitor a person’s temperature, heart rate, activity level, position and location. Intended for hospital use initially, the Nuubo contains electrodes (seemingly thin) for heart monitoring, plus a pocket for a device that measures temperature and position via an accelerometer. Down the road is location sensing and home monitoring use. This seems not to be advanced as the Nyx Devices Somnus Sleep Shirt [TA 25 May] in thin fabric sensors or 24eight‘s sensors incorporated in various clothing forms.
