It is encouraging to note in these troubled times for the NHS that someone, somewhere, is recognising the need to promote innovations. Ben Lloyd from The Carephone company reports that at last week’s NHS Confederation conference the company was invited to attend and demonstrate its products. Regular Telecare Aware readers will remember we broke the news not just of its main mobile and landline products but its ‘skins’ to make the pendant elements more attractive and plans for a GPS shoe. Ben reports that the Accessing Innovation scheme has been introduced by Mike Farrar, Chief Executive of the NHS Confederation and it is aimed directly at introducing innovations to the NHS to help with cost cutting: “helping the little guys to deal with the big guys” as he puts it.
