Mobile health in linguistically diverse populations

To continue the theme of the McKesson grants…published in the winter edition of Perspectives, the AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) journal, the short paperĀ Role of Mobile Health in the Care of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse US Populations advocates reimbursement for mobile health consults, mobile subsidies for low-income chronically ill patients, the use of social networking tools in public health, ‘culturally and linguistically appropriate mobile-phone-supported communication’ between patients and providers and (oddly) holding up certification of mobile technologies as health devices for a ‘wide accessibility’ criterion.
