Another Friday, another doctor smartphone forecast

Another Friday….another smartphone adoption study.  This time it’s EPG Health Media (an interesting combination of online publisher, communications and market research) comparing US and EU physician adoption of smartphones.  US beats EU 81% vs. 44%, but EU is expected to pick up to 65% in six months.  Where it’s a stretch is comparing these findings to Manhattan Research’s same number 2012 projection [TA 30 July]:  sample size here is again tiny at 100 (US) and 240 (EU) against Manhattan’s 1900.  Some surprising findings–the hunger for apps remains high especially in EU; 95% of US providers use them but EU has a shortage, especially localized ones.   EPG also highlights the Morgan Stanley finding that mobile internet usage will outstrip desktop by 2013.  Article.
