mHealth to $1.7 billion by 2014: Chilmark Research

A holiday week here in the US, an early release of a forecast.  Chilmark Research’s mHealth @ $1.7 billion by 2014 takes on enterprise usage via smartphones and tablets for analyst Cora Sharma’s paper, mHealth in the Enterprise: Trends, Opportunities and Challenges.  It’s a wide angle look at both physician/clinician adoption and enterprise (hospital) HIS including EHR and e-prescribing.  One prediction:  health/medical content apps such as Epocrates and Medscape will reach saturation by 2013–we are already seeing consolidation in this sector with Epocrates’ purchase of Modality.
