That seems to be the big bet that Dimitry Grishin of Grishin Robotics, an investment fund for robots and their developers, is making. From academia and expensive, years-in-the-making prototypes, he envisions inexpensive, mass-market robots which solve simple everyday problems through good design, and are not necessarily humanoid or Gumby-like. Also they must be developed quickly to get user feedback. Grishin’s first investment is Double Robotics, a 15 lb. ‘cylinder on a stick’ telepresence robot. MedCityNews.
