Intel advances SOA Expressway software

Secure EHR integration for hospitals has been problematic, as integrating records on hand with PHRs, and working with/around legacy systems that don’t communicate with each other, has proven both difficult and expensive.  Last Thursday, Intel announced version 2.2 of Intel SOA Expressway for Healthcare, an integration appliance specifically for healthcare information.  Their announcement focuses on the system deployment, with healthcare portal solutions provider IGI, at Newark (NJ) Beth Israel Medical Center, a 600+ bed urban teaching hospital.  The hospital is using it to securely share patient records on emergency room visits, immunization backgrounds and Medicaid medication histories with partner institutions, physicians, other care givers and patients.  Intel software network blog.  Webinar link.
