Social media and FDA hearings on regulation

Last month, the FDA held hearings on the application of social media platforms to drug and medical device advertising.  While drugs aren’t our ‘beat’, many telecare (alarms) and telehealth devices do (or will) become FDA registered.  Regulation of this area could affect the informational/interactive areas of mHealth applications, even in self-monitoring, and of course many telehealth devices are interfacing with or incorporating vital signs monitoring.  WOMMA (Word of Mouth Marketing Association) invites your comments; FDA webpage with links to transcripts; comment period closes 31 January 2010.
